Description

Wood: Rose
Pommels: Tree Agate

Carada and Malo were brothers who lived in a village in the mountains. Both brothers were well respected, for Carada was wise beyond his years, and always seemed to have good advice, and Malo had a skill with plants and things that grew, which was seen to be a gift from the gods. One day a woman came who stole Malo’s heart, and he left with her. Soon winter came to the village, and with it starvation. Raiders came and killed Carada’s father, and many homes were burned, and the food taken. Carada set out to find his brother in the woman's white city. So he traveled long and hard until he found his brother, and Malo realized she did not return his love, and went home with his brother. He made the land yield fruit again, and left each year to find new places, and bring growth with him.

These rose wands were cut from the same branch, and carry the brotherly link. Rose is tied with love, and love of all kinds is the subject of the Tale of the Brothers. The rough spiral pattern that adorns the wands reflects the cycles of nature, imperfect and unpredictable as they are. The runes on the curved Malo wand are Inguz, the rune of a Germanic fertility god, and Othala, the rune of the homeland. The runes on the straight Carada wand are Jera, the rune of Cycles and Harvest, and a bindrune of Ansuz and Raidho, which signifies a divine journey back to rightness.

The Tale of the Brothers is an original story by me, and the buyer of the wands will receive it in full as part of their purchase.
